Things on My Mind

I have been busy these past two weeks. Last Monday went to a concert and seen Alan Pedersen. He told us something that has stuck with me ever since. Since we have lost a child I never thought of this, he told us... "Once you come to the fork in the road later in life you will ask yourself one question, "Do you want to remember the death of a child or do you want to remember the time you had with your child?"

The rest of that week went by and then I was starting to relax because of the weekend. Sunday evening service was a great one God was moving. I went up for prayer for a healing because my ankle had been hurting all day. It has given me pain since I had fallen down a flight of stairs about 3-4 years ago, I thank the Lord I didn’t break it. Anyway after I went and sat back down the pain was gone, let’s just say I was praising the Lord. I thank the gentleman that prayed for me and he told me to not thank him but thank the Lord. I told I have been, he told me that Satan tries to tell you that the pain is still there to just keep saying that God healed you. Well, sure enough on Monday the pain was starting again and I started thanking God and telling Satan that my God has healed me and the pain stopped.

This week has been busy, because of trying to get everyone their Avon orders delivered before my hubby and I leave for our camping trip tomorrow. Because I have been having a stressful time these past weeks the Lord brought to my attention that he is my strength. He said there comes a time in life when you fall and you don’t want to get up (which I have been there many of times) but that is when God reminded me, “I have always been by your side when you have fallen and I have helped you up, now rely on my strength because that is what it is there for.” Those are some powerful words when I need his strength to get me through the day. I hope everyone gets plenty of rest this weekend.

Things to Ponder!

Today was a good day spent it with my hubby. My hubby and I went to drop off someone’s order for Avon. Then went home because he had to go to work then took the motorcycle to the church so we could help with the garage sale. We had fun spending it with our church family. Now I am sitting here relaxing pondering on the last couple of days. I have been thinking about the article I read in our local community newspaper about the 10 year old girl with Leukemia that had her wish delivered from Make A Wish Foundation. It was a trip for four days to Universal Studios and Disneyland with her family. It breaks my heart when I hear about people getting different forms of cancer especially children. It made me smile just knowing that these children that get their wish after spending all that time in the hospital gets time not to think about their illness just for that little a bit of time. The article stated that Make a Wish arranges over 350 wishes a year and refuses to leave any unfulfilled. That is so great. In the article is said that Disneyland grants the foundation with free entrance tickets to the foundation for these families that have been referred to Make A Wish from their doctor. The foundation said that airline tickets are so expensive, that most demand donation is air miles. They said donating unused miles is a fantastic way for people to grant a wish that doesn’t cost them anything, also the miles don’t expire either. So if you have ever thought about donating to a foundation this is the one that really could use it, also if you have miles that you don’t use they could use it.

This makes me think that sometimes we think our life is hard and we can’t deal with the daily struggles. Our lives are easy compared to these children and their families. I thank Jesus every day for giving me life, breathe, and everything else. Just knowing he is with me daily helps me see that life can get easier as long as I let him control my life. This sometimes is a daily struggle because I am human and I always want to control my life. But I do realize that me controlling my life verses him control my life is a lot harder because I always mess things up. So are you letting him control your life?

Last Couple of Days Was Great

I have had a great day these last couple of days. Went shopping with my mom and dad yesterday. It was a great experience, was getting my dad some new shoes and he put them on and wanted to stand up and walk in them (he had a stroke about three years ago so walking is hard for him). He didn't have his cane, but he got up walked a couple feet without his cane and without holding onto anything. He was so excited, so was I.

Yesterday, made my phone calls for my business, and got some orders was so excited. I am hoping to get a couple more before my order goes in, in the morning.

Now just relaxing and thinking about all the blessings God has bestow on me these last couple months. I was doing a study today on God's love for us. Just knowing that God lives in us and has given us his Spirit, and if anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And knowing this we can rely on the love God has for us. I am thankful for God's love for me.

Tonight we had chili for dinner but since our oven isn't working I though why not try making cornbread in the microwave and guess what it worked. But I do prefer them in the oven.

Be Anxious About Nothing!

Wow, today was a good day. I had a relaxing day but there is that anxiousness in my Spirit for some reason, but I keep trying to tell myself that God is in control of my life and the one verse that runs through my head is Philippians 4:6... Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Today someone wanted advice from people that have been married over 25 years on how to make their marriage last. So I told her that my husband and I have been married 25 years and we met on a blind date set up by my best friend (and yes she is still a friend). The one thing that helped us during our marriage is to talk and not yell. Also we go out with our friends and we have never told each other that we couldn't do anything. Talking is the most important thing in a marriage. (I have seen/heard of so many marriages fall apart due to no communication and from losing a child due to death during a marriage, we lost our first born son (will write more about this later) and we didn't let it tear us apart in fact we grew closer. Just knowing that we each was hurting because we both lost him not just me). So let me stress communication is the most important thing in a marriage.

May everyone's evening be a relaxing one.

Life Was Out of Control!

I can't believe that it has almost been over three months since I have posted. Life was so busy these last couple of months. I have come to realize that I need to just take some time out for myself and reflex on the blessings God has given me. I have noticed that I have worried about getting my business off the ground that I haven't taken time out for myself, my family or to just to sit and reflex and spend time with God.

I have realized that just some of the verses that I have came across in these last couple of weeks tells me that the Lord has plans for my life. Has Jeremiah 29:11 states..."For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (NIV). I need to rely on God for not only the relaxing time but ALL times including my life.

Today, I went to breakfast with my mom and dad. When then went grocery shopping, got home just in time to put the frozen food away before I had to rush out the door for a meeting with one of my team members. Got home just in time to leave and go to Target with my mom, back home relaxed for a couple of hours before starting dinner. Now I am relaxing before I go to bed to start my day all over again tomorrow. I have noticed that I am more relaxed just sitting here typing and writing down my feelings and how my day went.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday.
